Type 2 Driver Licensing

Type 2 Driver Licensing Protocol

In an effort to assure the safety of students and staff and to meet a reasonable standard of care from a risk management perspective, our Transportation Department has developed a clearly articulated Type 2 Driver Licensing protocol.

Any employee who may need to drive a district vehicle, either to transport students or for some other work-related activity will need to provide the following necessary documentation to the Transportation Department and receive confirmation in writing (email) that they have been authorized as a Type 2 Licensed Driver.

Those who drive district vehicles without following this established protocol, whether to transport students or for other activities, are in violation of Olympia School District Policy.

Please see attached ‘Standard Operating Protocol: Tran.SR.003. Type 2 Driver Licensing Protocol.

For questions related to Type 2 Driver Licensing, please contact Jackie Rafferty, Transportation Coordinator at (360) 596-7727 or jrafferty@osd.wednet.edu.
